The 3rd Khachaturian International Festival continues to represent the audience an unforgettable musical evenings, filled with exclusive concert programs.
On November 7 the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, artistic director and principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan, presented Adagio from Symphony No.3 by Krzysztof Penderecki (Armenian premiere) and symphony by Igor Stravinsky “The Rite of Spring”.
After the concert, the audience, sharing with impressions, noted that the concert was impressive both by the chosen compositions and performing art.
Viola player Maxim Novikov said: “The Great Stravinsky is in Yerevan. This is just wonderful. I am grateful to Sergey Smbatyan and to the Festival for they have presented this work."
Italian conductor Gianluca Marciano was among the audience. A week after he will come up with a concert in the framework of the Festival conducting the Youth Orchestra. Speaking about the event, the maestro said he was satisfied by listening to the concert. "It was a beautiful evening full of great music."
The head of D. Demirchyan Museum -Karine Rafaelian stressed that every time she listens to the music of Penderecki, she is particularly pleased. "I feel proud that even abroad we have such powerful artists with Armenian roots. This is why his symphony gives me not only aesthetic pleasure but also stroked my ambitiousness. While listening to Stravinsky's work I imagined that the ballet could have been very nice. I would like to see the ballet as well. The Youth Orchestra is known to me, so I am very happy that we got such young musicians. "
On the same day, November 7, at the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre, in the context of the Festival, Aram Khachaturian's "Gayaneh" ballet in 3 acts was represented.
It should be mentioned that the 3rd Khachaturian International Festival is held under the patronage of RA President Serzh Sargsyan. This musical celebration is realized by the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (general partner VivaCell-MTS), with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture. The festival is sponsored by "Pyunik" Charitable Foundation, “Luding" Company, "Jermuk Group" and "Ani Plaza".
