The Komitas String Quartet performed within the framework of the Khachaturian Festival

On November 25 chamber music lovers enjoyed wonderful performances of the Komitas String Quartet within the framework of the 4th Khachaturian International Festival. During the two-part-concert Quartet Rosamunda by Franz Schubert, String Quartet: Theme and Variations by Edward Mirzoyan, Miniatures by Komitas/Aslamazyan were performed at the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum.

Eduard Tadevosyan (first violin), Suzy Yeritsyan (second violin), Alexander Kosemyan (viola), Anzhela Sargsyan (cello) are members of the Komitas String Quartet. By the way, the recital of the Quartet was marked by the debut of the talented cellist Angela Sargsyan.

The first violin of the quartet, People's Artist Eduard Tadevosyan highly appreciates the role of the Khachaturian Festival in the musical life of Armenia. According to Mr. Tatevosyan, musicians have a great opportunity to communicate with each other, as well as with their faithful audience. The festival serves as a unique platform for an information exchange between the entire world.

The Komitas String Quartet participates in the Khachaturian Festival for the first time. Speaking of the concert program, Tadevosyan mentioned that the Quartet Rosamunda by Schubert is rather famous and very beautiful composition, an ocean of romanticism. What about the String Quartet: Theme and Variations by Mirzoyan, thought it was composed in 1947, it still remains relevant.

The 4th Khachaturian International Festival is held under the patronage of the President of RA Serzh Sargsyan. It is held thanks to the joint efforts of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (General Partner of the Orchestra - VivaCell-MTS) and the "Classical Music Support" NGO, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of RA, the "Khachaturian" Foundation and the European Foundation for Support of Culture. The sponsors of the 4th Khachaturian Festival are "Jermuk Group" Company, "Ani Plaza" Hotel, the Yerevan Brandy Factory and the ArmSwissBank.
