Within the framework of the Khachaturian Festival the Clarinet Concerto by Jean Francaix was performed in Armenia for the first time

Within the framework of the Khachaturian Festival the Clarinet Concerto by Jean Francaix was performed in Armenia for the first time on November 17. The soloist Davit Gyulamiryan performed the composition jointly with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. The concert program included "La Mer" by Claude Debussy. The concert was headed by the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the SYOA Sergey Smbatyan.

David Gyulamiryan is the first clarinetist of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. Speaking of the Khachaturian Festival, he informed that his first meeting with the Festival took place exactly four years ago, while performing as the member of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia.

"The festival invites leading musicians to Armenia, uniting them around the Armenian culture. Today I was lucky enough to perform at the Khachatrian Festival as a soloist and share the same stage with all those well-known musicians,"- David Gyulamiryan noted.

As a rule, each musician has a favorite composer and composition. As for Mr. Gyulamiryan, he found it difficult to identify anyone. Nevertheless, he mentioned Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, which is considered to be some kind of business card for musicians. Gyulamiryan also mentioned the names of such composers as Brahms, Spohr, Weber.

The 4th Khachaturian International Festival is held from October 6 to December 10. Khachaturian Festival is held under the patronage of the President of RA Serzh Sargsyan. It is held thanks to the joint efforts of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (General Partner of the Orchestra - VivaCell-MTS) and the "Classical Music Support" NGO, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of RA, the "Khachaturian" Foundation and the European Foundation for Support of Culture. The sponsors of the 4th Khachaturian Festival are "Jermuk Group" Company, "Ani Plaza" Hotel, the Yerevan Brandy Factory and the ArmSwissBank.
