Concert, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Komitas State String Quartet

The next concert held within the framework of the 2nd Aram Khachaturian International Festival was entitled  “SYOA meets Khachaturian”. The evening was held at the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum and was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Komitas State String Quartet.

Komitas State String Quartet is one of the oldest quartets in the world. It was founded in 1924 at the Moscow Conservatory by the students Avet Gabrielyan (1st violin), Levon Ohanjanyan (2nd violin), Michael Teryan (viola) and Sergey Aslamazyan (cel­lo), (headed by E.Guzikov). In 1932 by the decision of Armenian Government the String Quartet was named after the great composer Komitas.

During the concert evening the audience was presented the chamber compositions by Khachaturian - Toccata for Piano, Dance No. 1 for Violin and Piano, Song-Poem for Violin and Piano, Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano, Poem for Piano, other pieces by Maestro.

Once again we inform you that thanks to the support of VivaCell-MTS, the General Partner of the Youth Orchestra now on the connoisseurs of classic music will be given a unique opportunity to follow all the concerts of the collective, particularly the whole season of the 2nd Aram Khachaturian International Festival, regardless of their location. Starting from September 16 the concerts will be online broadcasted on the official website of the Festival www.akhif.am and the official website of the Orchestra www.syoa.am.
